SUN CSA Friday Hangout: Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA)

Women’s traditional roles in the home and fields, the final say on major household financial decisions rests primarily with men. Although women may manage daily expenses, but their lack of experience in money management and low literacy and numeracy. Since 1991, consortium partner CARE has been using the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) model to empower women with access to financial systems and empowerment opportunities in dozens of countries around the globe. CARE International in Laos had used the VSLA model to improve food and nutrition security in the Northern Uplands (SUPA), 2014-2019. That the VSLA model was effective and worked well in the Northern Lao context. The presentation will show us monitoring results of the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA).
