SUN CSA Annual General Meeting 2026: Strengthening Partnerships for a Nutrition-Secure Laos

VIENTIANE, Laos – On 4 April 2026, the Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance (SUN CSA) reached a significant milestone in its mission to combat malnutrition by hosting its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM). Organized by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and funded by the Irish Government through Alive & Thrive, the gathering served as a vital platform for collaboration and strategic foresight.

The SUN CSA continues to be a powerhouse of collective impact in Laos. Currently, the alliance comprises 79 member organizations that together support over 2.2 million people. In 2024 alone, the network implemented 110 nutrition projects, building on a decade-long legacy of over 500 nutrition support activities delivered across all 18 provinces of Laos.

The AGM brought members together to review collective progress from the 2024–2025 period and exchange valuable lessons learned from field-level nutrition work. A central highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the draft Strategic Plan 2026–2030, alongside the 10-Year Nutrition Strategy and the associated 5-Year Action Plan. To bring these strategies to life, members showcased their recent successes through Results Presentations. These sessions highlighted the tangible improvements in health and nutrition outcomes achieved by the network over the past year.

The afternoon sessions took a participatory approach, with members working in breakout groups to shape the SUN CSA Plan 2026. This collaborative effort reaffirmed the alliance’s shared commitment to improving the lives of mothers and children across the country. As the meeting drew to a close, participants shared concrete ideas on how their individual organizations will align with SUN CSA’s five core focus areas for 2026–2030: Capacity building and Knowledge management, Partnerships, Policy dialogue and nutrition practice and Governance and Management.

The success of the 2026 AGM was marked by the diversity of insights and the unified voice of its members. By bringing 79 organizations together under one vision, the meeting successfully strengthened the foundation for future collaboration, ensuring that the next five years of nutrition work in Laos will be the most impactful yet.
