FAQ

Below are some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that are asked to SUN CSA Laos Secretariat. If you have a question and you can’t find an answer, feel free to ask us using the Contact Us page.

National and International CSOs work to support the Government’s efforts towards achieving the National Nutrition Strategy and Plan of Action. All activities by CSOs in Lao PDR are in partnership with the Government of Lao PDR through project agreements. Each individual CSO nutrition project is conducted to achieve their individual goals, and the results of these are shared and coordinated so that they work in harmony with other CSO and government projects. CSOs use the SUN CSA to coordinate their project activities, as well as to share best practice with each other and the government. In this way, SUN CSA members act both independently within their projects, as well as in coordination and partnership with other CSOs, to support the governments work of improving nutrition in Lao PDR. To understand more about how Civil Society Organisations work through the SUN movement with the Government of Lao PDR, please see our Background page.
SUN CSA is always open to new members. Most members are non-profit organisations based in Laos, but there are ways to be involved if you are not part of an organisation or are in a different type of group. If you want to know how to join SUN CSA Laos, please see our Membership page. If you are a business and want to know how to be involved in a global movement to improve nutrition, please contact the SUN Business network in Laos.
This website has lots of information on nutrition in Lao PDR – possibly the most information on nutrition all in one place. If you want to look through our resources to find a specific type of nutrition data, please go to the Documents page of our Resources Section. There you can search for data by the category of document (laws and decrees, research and reports, policy and strategy, tools and manuals), and by the sector (Agriculture, Education, Gender, Health, WASH). For the report with the largest amount of statistics about nutrition and other topics, you may want to read the LSIS II report.
SUN CSA Laos is a formal network of 60+ civil society organisations, both national Non-Profit Associations (NPAs) and International Non-Government Organisations (INGOs). All organisations share the goal of improving the nutrition status of all Lao people, in particular women and children in their first 1,000 days of life. You can find out more about what the members do on our About Us page and you can find a list of our members and contact details on our Members page.
