Congratulations to SUN CSA Member Organisations working in Oudomxay, lead by Enhancing Nutrition of Upland Farming Families – ENUFF / SNV for holding the Learning Event between CSOs and Government to improve nutrition activities in Oudomxay Province.
The ENUFF project, in collaboration with Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN CSA), World Food Program (WFP) and PLAN International, organized a 2-day Provincial Nutrition Stakeholders Learning Workshop in Oudomxay province on 10th-11th March 2021. Almost 100 staffs from local Non-profit Associations and Development Partners working in Oudomxai, the District Nutrition Committee members from all seven districts attended the workshop. Successful approaches, challenges, and learnings from the implementation of various nutrition projects were presented in the workshop.
Some of the highlighted approaches were the use of Community Led Total Sanitation approach, use of village nutrition teams (VNT) to provide nutrition education to the first 1000 day families, use of gender and WASH monitoring tools (GWMT) and Farmer Nutrition Schools for nutrition sensitive agriculture production. In their presentation the National Nutrition Center emphasised the need for “Same priority, Same focus, Same goal, Same timeframe”. In addition, quality of education, women’s workload and coordination between different sectors were frequently mentioned from development organization partners. The District Nutrition Committee members stressed the importance of improving coordination between the various sectors in order to address malnutrition in their respective districts.
