Thank you to the facilitator and all 29 participants from member organizations who joined us to learn and exchange experiences on the topic of telemedicine during SUN CSA Friday Hangout on 20 October 2023.
Dr. Bouavanh, the facilitator from Promotion of Family Health Association, provided valuable insights into the counseling process, benefits, and challenges of telemedicine. Telemedicine (providing medical support over the phone) plays a crucial role in supporting small hospitals and health centers located in remote areas. It responds to the requirements of local people very well as it helps people access basic counselling and diagnosis, which supports them to plans for the next steps of their treatment. Telemedicine also helps people to access health facility information, so that they can choose the facility that is suitable for their illness
